Argentinian authorities tighten access to US dollars

Cap for companies to buy dollars without informing the central bank has decreased

Access to dollars by Argentinian companies and individuals has been tightened in the past two weeks, with new measures imposed by the national authorities.

The Central Bank of Argentina has lowered the amount of currency banks and companies can buy without informing the institution, from $200,000 to $150,000. According to a central bank official, who confirmed the new cap, this is a measure to "improve the market operations" in Argentina, and is applied when companies and banks "buy dollars for
