Bush adviser appointed to Bank of England MPC
All-male committee sees second female appointment in less than two months
George Osborne, the UK chanceller of the exchequer, has appointed Kristin Forbes, a former advisor to President George W Bush and expert in financial contagion, to the Bank of England's (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
Forbes is the second woman waiting to take up a post on the currently all-male committee of nine, just two months after Nemat ‘Minouche' Shafik was appointed as the bank's deputy governor for markets and banking in March.
