People: Israel appoints new currency head; ESRB re-elects Ingves

Bank of Israel: Governor Karnit Flug has appointed Ilan Steiner as head of the currency department at the Bank of Israel. He will succeed Moti Fein, who is retiring after leading the department for nine years.

Steiner, until recently a senior vice-president for human resources and administration at the Israel Antitrust Authority, will join the bank on March 1. He holds a graduate degree in Law and Economics from the University of Haifa, and is currently completing his Doctoral thesis on
