Bank of Italy copycat website closed
An almost identical replica of the Bank of Italy's website was today shut down by the Italian authorities, over fears it was seeking to illegally obtain internet users' personal data.
The Bank of Italy was made aware of the copycat website last week, and promptly brought it to the attention of its users and the relevant branch of the Italian police force.
The copycat, which could be found at www.bancaditalia.org, rather than the genuine www.bancaditalia.it, featured content from the English
