Ukrainians encouraged to hold savings in national currency

Olena Shcherbakova, director of the National Bank of Ukraine's General Department of Monetary Policy, on July 26 called for Ukrainians to hold their savings in the national currency, the hryvnia.
Shcherbakova pointed out that the stance taken by the central bank towards the currency in which savings should be kept had remained unchanged for a long time. "We recommend keeping savings in the national currency. However, one should bear in mind that any currency is associated with foreign exchange
