Lagarde welcomes additional IMF funding

Christine Lagarde

Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, on June 19 welcomed pledges by 37 IMF countries to supply a total of $456 billion of additional funding.

Speaking at the G-20 summit in Los Cabos, Mexico, Lagarde said the money "puts the IMF in a much better position to help its 188 member countries restore sounder economic and financial conditions worldwide".
