Kenya selects finance ministry official as new deputy governor

Kenya's deputy prime minister and minister for finance, Uhuru Kenyatta, on Wednesday announced that Haron Sirima, the deputy director of debt management at the finance ministry, has been appointed as a deputy governor at the Central Bank of Kenya.

Kenyatta said the move was part of the central bank's plan to enhance capacity in monetary policy management, particularly in the monetary policy operations function.
