Next year's IMF/ World Bank meet no longer in Cairo

The 2012 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group will take place in Tokyo, Japan, in October 2012, the executive boards of the two institutions announced on Monday.

Those central bankers that were looking forward to seeing the ancient Egyptian pyramids will instead have to make do with the bright lights of Akihabara Electric Town in Tokyo after the organisations changed their meetings' location.

Japan was chosen as an alternative venue for the 2012 annual
