Fiji appoints new deputy governor

The board of the Reserve Bank of Fiji on Thursday approved the appointment of Inia Naiyaga as the new deputy governor with immediate effect. He will serve for a period of three years.

"The board considered, among other things, the wide-ranging experience of Mr Naiyaga who has worked in most areas of the central bank and also spent five years with the National Reserve Bank of Tonga as deputy governor," said the central bank in a statement. "He has a wealth of experience in central banking matters
