HK SFC’s Wheatley to head new UK regulator

Martin Wheatley

Martin Wheatley was on Wednesday named the chief executive designate of the Consumer Protection and Markets Authority (CPMA), one of two new regulators being set up in the UK.

Wheatley will be formally appointed to the post of chief executive once the new body has been established at the end of 2012. However, from September he will work as the new managing director of the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) consumer and markets business unit.
