RBA names new assistant governor for currency

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has appointed Michele Bullock as assistant governor for currency.

Bullock started in the role on Monday, having been promoted from the post of adviser in the currency group, in which she was worked closely with Bob Rankin, the previous assistant governor for currency.

Prior to serving as adviser in the currency group, Bullock was head of the central bank's payments policy department. She has over 25 years' experience in central banking, the RBA said.
