De La Rue shares soar on Oberthur takeover bid
De La Rue, the world's biggest banknote printer, has been approached with a takeover bid, months after a paper fault at its Hampshire plant that will put a £35m ($54.8m) dent in its profits for the year.
In a statement, De La Rue said it noted press speculation that it has received "a highly preliminary and opportunistic approach." The firm added: "There is no certainty that this highly preliminary approach will lead to an offer. A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate."
