Malaysia names new deputy governor

Puan Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus was on Monday named Bank Negara Malaysia's deputy governor.

The new deputy was previously the assistant governor charged with the supervision of financial institutions and with overseeing the central bank's risk management department. She is a member of the Monetary Policy Committee and a member of the investment panel of the Employee Provident Fund, a Malaysian pension fund.

She joined the central bank in 1987 and was also involved in the financial sector resolution
