SocGen chief Oudéa to head key IIF committee

Frédéric Oudéa, the chairman and chief executive officer of Société Générale, a French investment banking group, was on Friday named chairman of the Institute for International Finance's (IIF) steering committee on regulatory capital.

The IIF, a banking lobby group which has been an outspoken opponent of the Basel III capital accord, said Oudéa was taking over with immediate effect as Stephen Green, the chairman of HSBC and the current head of the committee, was stepping down.

Green has resigned
