Elizabeth Warren poised to run consumer body: reports

Leading media have reported that US President Barack Obama would name Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard academic and the head of a congressional panel investigating the banking crisis, as the unofficial head of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The New York Times, a newspaper, reported Wednesday that a White House official said Warren would be made an assistant to the President in overseeing the set up of the new consumer body. The title would allow her to run the body in effect, without
