Singer named new Czech National Bank governor
Miroslav Singer, a vice governor at the Czech National Bank, will succeed Zdeněk Tůma as the governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB).
Czech President Václav Klaus appointed Singer on Friday for a six-year term which begins on 1 July.
Singer, a 42-year-old economist, is the third governor, following in the footsteps of Josef Tošovský, now the chairman of the Financial Stability Institute at the Bank for International Settlements, and Tůma.
The Prague Stock Exchange was up 0.87% at 1,168 by 14
