Brussels and Paris push for European monetary fund

The German and French finance ministries have begun discussing proposals for a European monetary fund.

Bruno Silvestre, a spokesman for the French finance ministry, confirmed that discussions took place over the weekend between the finance ministries of the eurozone's two biggest economies, adding that details were scant at present.
