Norway enables account holders to switch bank in seconds

Norway on Friday became the first country to introduce to technology which will allow account holders to switch banks in seconds.

Account holders will be able to switch banks over the internet using the new technology and a code calculator for electronic authorisation, allowing them full access to internet banking at a rival firm in seconds.

EDB, a Norwegian IT company, developed the technology with BN Bank.
