IMF research highlights regulatory governance gap

A survey of the governance of financial regulators has highlighted weaknesses in their structure and has criticised some for failing to see broader financial issues as part of their mandate.

The research, which was published by the International Monetary Fund and is based on feedback from 140 supervisors, noted that given the global financial crisis, it was clear that all financial sector supervisors needed to see financial stability as partly their responsibility.
