Tanzania looks into new notes

The Bank of Tanzania is looking into printing new banknotes barely five years after the previous series was introduced.

The central bank has posted a request for expression of interest on its website, which said the central bank has set aside funds for various activities in 2008/09, and part of these funds will be used to purchase notes of "various denominations".

The central bank says: "Only firms with demonstrated experience and excellent track record in similar assignments will be considered
