Japan central bank keeps dismal view on economy

Japan's central bank kept its bleak view of the economy unchanged for the fourth-straight month in a report Monday that said growth was hampered by weak domestic consumption and volatile exports.

Anemic recovery in the U.S. and European economies, plagued by tensions in the Middle East, limited Japan's hopes for an export-led recovery, the Bank of Japan said in its monthly report.

"Economic activity remains flat amid substantial uncertainty about the outlook for the economy,'' it said.
