Legislator calls for external BI appointments

Bank Indonesia needs to have a deputy governor selected from among commercial bankers, a legislator was quoted as saying by Asia Pulse.

A group of non-Bank Indonesia executives should act as candidates in the upcoming selection of new deputy governors for the central bank, Uray Faisal Hamid of the Commission XI said in the report.

Four deputy governors of the central bank will end their terms next year, and the selection of replacement deputy governors is scheduled to be completed six months in
