Former auditing chief appointed to PBOC dep gov

Xiang Junbo, the former deputy auditor-general of National Audit Office (NAO), has been appointed vice governor of People's Bank of China, an official at the central bank press office said.

Xiang is replacing Liu Tinghuan, who has retired as the vice-governor of the central bank. Liu is to take up the post of chairman of the board at China UnionPay Co Ltd., the mainland's bank card clearing monopoly, an official surnamed Guo at the central bank's press office told XFN.
