Thailand eases bank credit-card rules

THAILAND - Thailand's central bank Friday announced it has eased rules and regulations governing commercial banks' credit-card services in order to promote competitiveness and improve the quality of service.

"These changes place extra emphasis on allowing commercial banks the possibility of setting regulations more freely and according to their own business practices," Bank of Thailand Assistant Governor Tasna Rajatabhothi said.
