RBZ splurges on luxury goods for judiciary

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has bought a fleet of Mercedes-Benz cars, plasma-screen TVs and satellite dishes for the country's judges.

The Herald, a local newspaper widely perceived as presenting the government's view, said on Friday that the central bank had purchased 16 Mercedes-Benz E280 models, and an unspecified number of 32-inch plasma-screen TVs and satellite dishes to give to the judges. The judge's president received a 42-inch TV.
