Meirelles to stay at Brazil's central bank

At the inauguration ceremony of Brazil's new minister of finance, Guido Mantega, the president of the central bank, Henrique Meirelles, said that he will continue in his post.

According to Agncia Brasil, Meirelles remarked that he met with president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who "reaffirmed the autonomy of the Central Bank and our opportunity and duty of fulfilling our mission and continuing the work we have been doing in the Central Bank."
