AI spreads further among fintech teams

Centralised fintech teams more likely to apply AI/ML to sentiment analysis

The proportion of central banks utilising artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) tools increased year on year among respondents to the Fintech Benchmarks 2025.

Nearly three-quarters (73.5%) of 34 central banks say they use AI/ML. This marks a sharp increase from the 56.8% of jurisdictions using AI in the 2024 benchmark. Although the dataset is slightly different, 26 benchmark participants provided data in both years. Three institutions which were not involved in the use of AI/ML say
