Innovation hubs more common in advanced economies

Sandboxes remain most popular fintech initiative

Central banks continue to leverage various initiatives to promote fintech, but the Fintech Benchmarks 2023 show this can differ by a jurisdiction’s income size.

Most advanced economy respondents have created innovation hubs (61%), but just 28% of respondents in emerging markets have set these up.

Emerging market economies were slightly more likely to have an accelerator (17%) than advanced economies (11%), but both types of initiative are relatively less popular.
