Central Banking Institute’s Currency Benchmarks 2020 were released as currency managers were being forced to make some hard decisions regarding the cash cycle during a highly complex and shifting environment. 

Despite consumers turning towards digital means of payment over the past decade, during the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for cash increased substantially. Forecasts for future demand had to be radically revised, and currency managers had to quickly make decisions about distribution and cash
