Malawi stress test shows three banks fall below Tier 1 requirement under minor credit shock
Latest stress tests show improved resilience
There has been a general improvement across Malawi banks in terms of their resilience to various shocks, stress tests have shown, but they remain vulnerable to credit risk.
In its most recent financial stability report, published today (December 21), the central bank publishes the results of its assessment of banks' resilience in the face of "exceptional and plausible stress".
