Bundesbank’s Dombret calls for rigorous monitoring of Basel III implementation

Andreas Dombret, a member of the Bundesbank's executive board, on January 20 said rigorous monitoring by international bodies is necessary to ensure a global level playing field in financial market regulation.

At the European Ideas Network in Berlin, Germany, Dombret said: "Lagging reforms – like in over-the-counter derivatives markets – show the need to continue exerting pressure on jurisdictions to push forward with financial sector reforms. Accordingly, the focus at the global level is
