US inflation expectations tick up across all time horizons

NY Fed survey finds more respondents expect prices to rise over one- three- and five-year timeframes

US households’ inflation expectations ticked up at every time horizon in November, according to a survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Its most recent monthly survey of consumer expectations, published on December 9, found that people’s inflation expectations for one, three and five years out had all risen by 0.1 percentage points to reach 3%, 2.6% and 2.9% respectively.
