BIS aims for open data across borders with Project Aperta

Innovation Hub’s latest project seeks to link up national open-finance schemes

The Bank for International Settlements is aiming to make it easier for companies to share customers’ financial data across borders with the latest project from its Innovation Hub.

Project Aperta will explore ways of achieving “seamless cross-border data portability”, the BIS said today (October 16). It will do this by developing a standardised way of connecting national open-finance schemes. Its initial focus will be on trade finance for small and medium-sized enterprises.
