Just two years ago, Forbes had Sam Bankman-Fried at number 41 on their list of the world’s wealthiest people. Today he is serving a sentence of 25 years in a US federal prison, convicted late last year on seven counts of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering, and ordered to forfeit $11 billion (or whatever proportion of that he may still have left). Bankman-Fried is just 32.
