Central bank council “deeply regrets” government’s failure to agree on reappointing Wunsch
The Belgian central bank’s governing body has temporarily extended the governor’s time in office while the government decides whether it will renew his term.
The National Bank of Belgium’s (NBB) council has given a temporary extension to governor Pierre Wunsch’s term, it announced on January 2. Wunsch’s first term as NBB governor expired on January 1 and the government has not agreed whether to reappoint him.
