North Macedonia pauses tightening as Albania’s continues, while Armenia faces 0% inflation

Albania: The Bank of Albania’s supervisory council increased its policy rate by 25 basis points on November 1, taking the headline rate to 3.25%.

Since March 2022, it has raised its rate seven times, totalling 275bp of increases. Inflation was 3.8% year on year as of October 1, and averaged 4.1% in the third quarter, the central bank said.

This remains above the 3% target, but well below its peak of 8.1% in October 2022. The central bank said expects to achieve its target in the middle of next
