FSB calculates G-Sib list with revised methodology

Some global banks change “bucket” under first use of Basel Committee’s revised method

The Financial Stability Board has published the 2022 update to its list of global systemically important banks (G-Sibs), using a revised methodology for the first time.

Overall, the list contains the same 30 banks as last year. Bank of America was the only institution to move to a higher “bucket” (two to three), meaning it will have to meet a higher capital surcharge. Two banks moved down – China Construction Bank from bucket two to one, and BNP Paribas from three to two.
