Belarusian president bans price increases
“God forbid someone decides to raise prices,” says Lukashenko
The president of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, prohibited price increases in the country on October 6.
Lukashenko said the price freeze would take effect immediately, “so that they do not inflate prices over the day”. Belarus is the subject of international sanctions from many countries due to Lukashenko’s political repression and his support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
