MAS to raise $1.7 billion with 50-year green bonds

Singapore’s debut green bond was oversubscribed more than two times by large investors

Singapore is raising S$2.4 billion (US$1.74 billion) via a 50-year green bond – the first green bond the city-state has ever issued.

The sovereign green debt maturing in August 2072 is priced with a yield of 3.04%, the Monetary Authority of Singapore said on August 4.

The is also the first time Singapore has issued a 50-year bond. The yield on Singapore’s 30-year bond stood at 2.84% today (August 5).
