Honduran president appoints new governor
Rebeca Santos was finance minister and faced fraud charges over political dispute
The newly inaugurated president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, has named Rebeca Santos governor of the central bank, according to media reports.
Under the Honduran law, a five-member board of directors, including the governor and deputy governor controls the central bank. The president names the directors to four-year terms. The finance minister is a sixth, non-voting member of the board.
