Norges Bank aiming for December rate hike
Central bank projects somewhat steeper path of rate hikes among Norway’s trade partners
Norges Bank says it will likely raise the policy rate again in December, as the economy continues to recover from the Covid-19 shock.
Policy-makers kept the policy rate on hold at 0.25% after their monetary policy meeting on November 3. “The economic upturn in Norway is continuing broadly as expected,” Norges Bank said in a statement. “Unemployment has fallen further. Higher electricity prices have resulted in high consumer price inflation, but underlying inflation is lower than the inflation
