Turkish president names new central bank officials
Move follows Erdoğan’s dismissal of two deputy governors and one MPC member
Turkey’s president has appointed two men to serve as senior central bank officials, replacing some of those he dismissed a day earlier.
Media outlets in Turkey reported that president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had appointed Taha Çakmak to the post of deputy central bank governor on October 15. Erdoğan also named Yusuf Tuna to the central bank’s seven-member monetary policy committee, where he will serve alongside Çakmak.
The president dismissed deputy governors Uğur Namık Küçük and Semih Tumen, and
