France and Tunisia carry out cross-border CBDC transfer
Latest BdF experiment sees central banks make wire transfer using wholesale CBDC
The Banque de France said it had successfully completed a transfer between two individuals in different countries using a prototype central bank digital currency (CBDC).
The BdF said it worked on the CBDC project with the Central Bank of Tunisia and a consortium led by the Tunisian-based technology firm ProsperUs.
The experiment carried out a wire transfer of money between individuals in the two countries based on a transfer of a wholesale CBDC. The project is the latest in a series of CBDC
