Malawi picks G+D for currency processing contract

German-based firm already provides processing services to the Federal Reserve

The Reserve Bank of Malawi signed a contract with payment services firm Geisecke + Devrient to provide a currency processing system.

In a statement, the central bank said the contract was worth €4.1 million ($5 million). There is a grace period of 14 days for “interested parties” to object or query the contract.
