Riksbank to open two contingency cash offices

Offices will be opened this year and next to guard against disruptions to cash supply

Sweden’s central bank said it will open two contingency cash distribution offices for use during serious disruptions to the supply of physical money. ,

Sveriges Riksbank said it would open a new office in the southern city of Jönköping later this year. It plans to open another office in Falun, in central Sweden in 2022, it said in a statement published March 17,

 “The cash offices are contingency cash offices and will be used if our primary cash office in Stockholm is not available,” Maria Ely
