Deputy governor says digital cash “not foregone conclusion,” criticises crypto

Timothy Lane, deputy governor of the Bank of Canada, said on February 10 that the bank has “accelerated” investigation of its own digital currency. However, he added that it was unclear there was demand for a “digital loonie”.
