ECB paper looks at eurozone money markets
Policy-makers must ensure smooth functioning of secured money markets, researchers say
A working paper published by the European Central Bank examines the effects of the Basel III regulations and unconventional monetary policies on eurozone money markets.
In Money markets, central bank balance sheet and regulation, Stefano Corradin et al look at a range of data on both secured and unsecured money markets in the eurozone since 2005.
Before the introduction of the Basel III regulations in 2015, they find, there was both greater volatility on financial markets and worsening
