UK’s access to cash policy pilots to launch in 2021

Industry body seeks permission from FCA to allow retailers to provide cashback services

A body backed by the UK’s finance industry will launch nine pilot projects aimed at ensuring vulnerable communities are not cut off from cash services. 

The nine projects will start in the UK at the end of the year and run for the first six months of 2021.The initiative is being run by the Community Access to Cash Pilots (CACP), an independent organisation supported by UK Finance – the trade body for the UK’s banks and financial services sector.

The pilot projects are being staffed and funded
