Banque de France predicts 6% economic contraction
Confinement laws have had a significant impact on activity
The French economy could contract by 6% in the first quarter of 2020, according to new projections from the country’s central bank.
In a document published alongside the Banque de France’s latest business survey today (April 8), the central bank admitted the estimate did not have the same “precision” as its usual estimates but provided “a useful order of magnitude”.
