Dutch economy more volatile than European peers – DNB research
Changes to pension system, mortgage markets and budgets could reduce volatility, paper argues
The Dutch economy is prone to higher volatility than similar European economies, research published by the Netherlands Bank (DNB) finds.
Measured by the standard deviation in GDP growth, a measure of volatility, the Dutch economy is slightly more volatile, at 2 percentage points, against 1.7 percentage points for the rest of the euro area, says the research.
